GD Supplies field notes / Equipment planning
In these field notes
Start with availability, not a hypothetical bargain
GD Supplies mainly sells new stock. We do not currently have used Avalon Q units. If you ask about other used equipment, availability and condition need to be discussed for the actual units rather than inferred from an older model’s catalog entry.
Price is one line of the purchase
Used equipment can carry additional uncertainty around wear, repairs, contamination and downtime. A lower acquisition cost can be outweighed by power consumption or service needs. New equipment also needs a careful specification and warranty review; “new” is not a promise of fault-free operation.
Ask for evidence tied to the equipment
For any used option, request the actual condition description, known repairs, what is included and relevant test information if available. Ask whether evidence relates to the specific units or is just an example of the model.
A reference photo is not a serial-number record, and a brief hashrate screenshot is not a full health history. Understand what a seller can and cannot document.
Read the warranty and repair conversation
Coverage, claim procedure, exclusions and responsibility for costs need to be understood before payment. Do not assume new and used machines have the same terms, or that every model from the same maker carries identical support arrangements.
Calculate the operational difference
Compare power ratings at a relevant hashrate and apply your own energy price. Include a realistic allowance for downtime and any cooling work. This is a way to understand cost exposure, not a guarantee that either option will generate income.
Make the condition part of the inquiry
Tell us whether you require new equipment or are asking about a specific used option. Review our current position on used equipment, then share the model and quantity. We will discuss availability without treating an inquiry as a stock reservation.
Specifications are catalog ratings and should be checked for the exact configuration. These notes do not promise mining income, equipment availability or a delivery date.
